Use Website Auditor in Claude
If you installed the Website Auditor extension in Claude Desktop, switch to the Website Auditor connector. It takes a minute, and your Website Auditor account and sites stay as they are.
Why switch
- The extension can no longer be updated. It stays on the version you installed, and gets none of what we add.
- The connector gets every improvement as soon as it ships.
- It works in Claude on the web, in the desktop app and on mobile. The extension works only in the desktop app.
Add the connector
- In claude.ai, go to Settings › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste this address:
https://claude-mcp.website-auditor.io/mcp - Sign in with your Website Auditor account when Claude asks you to.
- In Claude Desktop, open Settings › Extensions and remove the old Website Auditor extension.
Your Claude plan
Per Anthropic’s documentation:
- Free plans can add one custom connector.
- On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner of the organization adds the connector. Members then sign in to it with their own Website Auditor account.
The “unverified services” warning
When you add the address, Claude shows a notice: “Custom connectors allow connections to unverified services.” Claude shows it for every custom connector, because Anthropic has not verified the service behind it.
Here, the service is Website Auditor’s own, at claude-mcp.website-auditor.io, on the same domain as this site. You sign in on a Website Auditor page, and connecting does not share your password or your personal API keys. The connector sends our service only what each request needs, such as the domain you asked about; it does not receive your conversation. You can remove the connector at any time from Settings › Connectors. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.
