Use Website Auditor in Claude
Website Auditor's connector lets Claude check whether AI assistants actually recommend a business. It asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the questions a real customer would ask, reports which businesses they name and which sources they read, and checks the site's security, performance, broken links and crawlability. It works in Claude on the web, the desktop app and mobile.
Connect it
- In Claude, open Customize › Connectors.
- Search the directory for Website Auditor and choose Connect. Not listed for you yet? Add it by URL, below.
- Start a conversation and ask, for example, “Is my-site.com recommended by AI assistants?”
If you add it by URL instead (Add custom connector), use https://claude-mcp.website-auditor.io/mcp, choose Sign in when needed, and let Claude register automatically.
In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http website-auditor https://claude-mcp.website-auditor.io/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
Signing in
You can start without an account: ask for a sample report and Claude shows a complete audit of example.com. The first time you ask for something that needs your account, Claude shows a Connect button.
- Sign in with Google, or ask for an emailed sign-in link. Open the link in the same browser as the sign-in window; that window then carries on by itself.
- The next page lists what Claude will be able to do: run audits and AI-visibility checks for you, read and manage the sites you monitor, and see your account's email address.
- Without a subscription, that page may also offer Pro: Start my 7-day free trial takes you through checkout and back, and Connect without a trial connects straight away. If you have had a trial in the last year, the buttons read Subscribe and connect and Connect without subscribing. Otherwise, choose Connect.
- Connecting does not share your password or your personal API keys. On its own it does not start or change a subscription.
What you can ask
- “Does ChatGPT recommend my-site.com?” An AI-visibility score for each assistant, the competitor named instead, and the sources the assistants read.
- “Audit my-site.com.” A full audit: AI visibility plus security headers, broken links, performance, and crawlability and markup, with a link to the report.
- “How do I compare with rival.com?” A head-to-head AI-visibility comparison.
- “What should I fix first?” Prioritised fixes from the latest audit and ready-to-edit JSON-LD schema, and a 90-day plan for getting recommended.
- “Track my-site.com weekly.” Weekly re-audits, then “what changed?” and a summary across every site you monitor.
- “Am I on Pro?” Your subscription status.
By default Claude asks before running a tool that spends an audit or changes your account, and starting or stopping monitoring always asks.
Plans
The sample report and the subscription check work with no account, and a free account gets a shorter list of fixes. Audits, comparisons, monitoring and the other tools need a Website Auditor Pro subscription ($49/month). Eligible new customers get a 7-day free trial; a payment method is required to start, and nothing is charged until the trial ends.
Already a Pro member? You keep your current price until the date in the email we send you, at least 28 days before it changes.
Disconnecting and your data
- Remove the connector any time from Customize › Connectors in Claude, and Claude stops using the connection.
- The connector sends our service only what each request needs: the domain you asked about, and any business name, location or plan focus Claude passes along. It does not receive your conversation.
- How we handle data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
